...and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
For both Jeanne's challenges today, and I've tagged it also for last week's F4A because I so wanted to use this die for a card for it last week but I just didn't have time.
Base: foil tape over a piece of embossed white card, brushed with gesso, I used a tracing wheel to roll around the edges and then smudged some black acrylic one. It's sanded a bit, and then I rolled my bubble wrap on an SU wheel over it to add some blue.
The sea is also done with bubble wrap on the wheel. The planet is cut from a scrap from an old MIX challenge so I was pretty sure I'd already covered my (mixed media) bases even if that was all I used ;-). I stamped the sentiment on a piece of acetate, cut it with a circle die and stuck it over my planet.
Planet popped up on foam tape, tomato paste tin stars added to finish it off.
This will go to the teen son of one of my best friends. She tells me he's at the grungy stage where he thinks that it's a test of true friendship if his friends don't mind how dirty (and presumably smelly!!) he is. Yikes - I still remember playing with him till he fell asleep, the day his sister was born. And when we gave him a lemur backpack for his birthday one year and it was on of the few times I can truly say I've seen someone's face light up with pleasure.
And I know the piece of stamped map I diecut the planet from shows Peru in totally the wrong place - but I had very limited ability to position the die on my discarded scrap!!

That background if one of the most fabulous mixed media pieces I have seen! Love your theme on this and the imaginative way you created it. How creative to use the old sewing tools! You've inspired me to check out the old sewing boxes! Sabrina, this is wonderful!

Wonderful thought, Sabrina....what are we without dreams and goals. You do mixed media SO SO well and are obviously in your element with these challenges.
