I created my background by squiggling distress markers on a clear block then misting with water before pressing it onto my watercolour paper. I also sprayed water directly on the paper and used a piece of paper towel to pull of some colour.

The watercolor look with the modeling paste dimension makes for an extraordinary background. I love the way you cut your butterflies from the same background.
