First let me say that my stampin' Ladies were over on Sat and we learned how to stencil. All said and done, I decided stenciling was NOT for me. So who is reading my brain and testing me today? :) I decided to be brave, and here is my card for two challenges for today. I don't think I left ONE fingerprint on this time either.
The technique challenge was to stamp inside your stencil. I hope I did it right as I was not understanding until I looked in the gallery. (Horrors! I never look before I design) Today I did and was inspired by Kathy LeDonne's card. This is how I understood the directions:
I cut an oval with a spellbinders die for my stencil. I held it on top of the piece of designer paper and sponged the edges. Then I stamped the poppies with the same color. My first try had the sentiment stamped in the same color too, but it didn't show up well, so I stamped this one in black.
Except for the fact that it looks like a cute little face with long eyelashes and cute lips, I like it. I maybe need to try something other than an oval next time for the stencil. Thanks for looking.

Ha, what are the odds that you decided stencilling wasn't for you, Carol and then these challenges come up...too funny! But on a more serious note...this is so beautiful, calm, serene...perfect for a sympathy card.

This is such a pretty card and I had to laugh at what you said about the face and eyelashes/lips. What I see is pretty sponging and gorgeous poppies. Maybe stencilling will grow on you as you did such a good job.

Hi Carol! This is gorgeous! I love how you did yours and I wish I would've thought of this type of stencil!! I tried more than once! I like the idea of doing it on dsp too. HaHa - a face!! You are too funny.

Terrific card, Carol! I like your subtle stenciling on that great bkgrd paper. The flowers are pretty and look nice stamped over in the same color. The black sentiment sets off the color perfectly. Nice work! :)

LOL, I certainly wouldn't have seen a face if you hadn't said it, Carol. The reverse-masked frame/stencil frames those soft poppies beautifully. This is a lovely sympathy card. I like the way you stamped the sentiment partially over the flowers, too.
