Got daring today and wanted to tried this mixed media technique to honor Dina as this week's Queen! Dina is so generous with her time and talents and is always coming up with so many different techniques to teach us with her wonderful tutorials and videos, and even takes the time to leave encouraging comments to spur us on to do new things.
After I embossed the doily on my paper, I dripped the acrylic paints all over and scraped the paint across the cardstock with my old drivers license to create the background - just went with the colors I used on the BG to find some scraps and a sentiment to finish the card - not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, and kind of fun to do something with mixed media. I left it rather CAS, so the technique takes the spotlight.
Thanks for looking - and thanks to Dina for the great new to me technique. I hope you enjoy your reign this week, for you surely deserve it.

You are getting some of the most fantastic backgrounds I have seen with this technique! Not only do I love the motif but also the fact the your wonderful sentiment is your focal image!

THIS IS AMAZING. That doily is gorgeous, and it stands out in detail so perfectly against the colors you chose (and I love those colors together - they're almost the same as the ones on my tutorial sample!). I'm glad to see you stamping! Are your eyes all better?
