This card is for today's Color Challenge - Blackberry Bliss, Bermuda and So Saffron - I must admit I was a little uncertain about it at first but I really liked several of the cards in the gallery so I gave it a shot! I also used Mary Jo's Lunchtime Sketch flipped on it's side.
Once upon a time I bought every paper SU came out with and could easily whip out a patterned paper to jump off from for most color challenges but those days are long gone so I made my own with ColourArte Silks acrylic glazes - I sponged 1 color on through sequin waste and then I stamped the other color on using 2 different size bottle lids. I did not have an exact So Saffron color so I mixed it up mywelf. The blackberry bliss is quite saturated so I was a little afraid to add too much and used it as my mat for the side strip and just the smallest layers of my Cricut die cut. I decided there was a bit too much white space so I made some colored modeling paste to match the Blackberry Bliss using Modeling Paste and 2 colors of Primary Elements Pigment Powders which I smoothed on in a few spots using a stencil.
Mixed Media techniques are such a great way to do the color challenge color combos! What do you think?
