Today's F4A called for making a one or two paper layer card. I LOVE stamping lots of layers to create a background and since I could not use multiple layers of paper, I did just that! I used an IO bubbles stamp bkgrd I had made. I made it by using several inks, direct to stamp, to ink it up. I stamped the original imprint, then misted it and stamped it again and let it air dry. Whenever I use a bkgrd stamp, I always stamp it twice, misting the second time. Oftentimes, I add a little more ink to the stamp and impress it, misted, one or two more times. This bkgrd is the third or fourth stamping.
On my bubbles bkgrd, I stamped coral, a sand dollar, starfish, seashells, seaweed, fish and air bubbles. I laid my MFT fish net stencil over it and used a sponge to ink around the stamped areas. I tried to stamp and use the colors to create "depth" to mimic the "underwater" look. I distressed the edges and attached it to my card base.
Stamping Notes: To get the "look" of the fish closest to the bottom, I stamped it in a SU lighter blue shade, then a lavender/purple shade, then an orange shade. You can see the layers of color IRL. I also stamped the coral in Cameo Coral, then a medium orange color to get a shadow effect.
In addition to creating my card with today's F4A in mind, I am adding it to the last two week's F4A challenges. 231 was to create a stamped bkgrd and 230 was to use bright colors. It is also for the Teapotter MMTPT312 challenge and will be mailed to Joe. It's not exactly a "fishing card" but hopefully it'll bring him some cheer.
THANKS for looking and happy creating!

Just getting a chance to peek at this while I print some boarding passes for friends staying over on their way to an early flight tomorrow morning. I love the effect of the weed and dots stamped together - even more so combined with the stencilling. The whole effect of this is amazing.
