Boy did I miscalculate on this card. I loved the choices for the CC488 and I really liked the layout for the SC498, so I was looking through my images trying to decide what to do. The colors kept "saying" flowers or butterflies, but I wanted something different. I chose this image with all those MICROSCOPIC parts to color. All I can say is MAJOR EYE STRAIN. Since the design was so small, copics and prisma pencils did not work...first 2 attempts into the trash. Tim Holtz distress markers with their very fine tips worked perfectly. Since all that teeny tiny coloring had only resulted in partial blindness and a huge headache, I decided to really send myself over the edge by making it into a reverse telescoping card...I am not sure what to call it. I used nesting die cuts to cut the colored image into 4 layers. Before cutting the image I made a color copy on cardstock and glued this down as my first layer. The next inner layer was attached with one layer of the thinest pop dots. Each succesdive layer was popped up with pop dots getting taller as I worked my way out. This is what caused the migrain and total blindnesd. The frames were very thin and I had to cut the miniture pop dots into ever smaller pieces. By the time I got to the outside frame I was stackin 3 itty bitty sticky pop dots together. There are little sticky things everywhere. I looked through my junk box and found this little round metal piece...flash back to my wilder days when I wore big, dangling earings. Years ago when I turned old and boring I took apart all those funky earings and saved the pieces. I added the blue pearls and peach ribbon and headed off to find a big bottle of advil. TFL, Francie

Reverse telescoping image is exactly what I called it when I looked at it. And I love the effect, there's something magical about it, I feel I'm looking into a box. I'm sorry this gave you a literal headache as well as the challenge of working out what to colour the image with, but wow, it has turned out beautifully! I have a set of floral stamps I have occasionally used to make DP, and I always wonder what AM I thinking, because I know it's hard to colour that fine detail.

Wow! What a wonderful technique and you did a fabulous job. I can imagine this took a while. I hope your eyes are on the mend. All your work was well worth making this wonderful card. Old earring parts do make nice charms/brads.

This is great..it's a sort of a psychedelic stained glass window...It looks really cool but I guess I can see how all the cutting and coloring might cause a headache. You did an awesome job on it...and I love the recycled old jewelry!

Oh my gosh, Francie, this is amazing. What a clever idea, and what PATIENCE. The colors are so vibrant, and the telescoping design is so clever. Love this!

Francie, I don't know how I missed this one but WOW! I bow to you for doing this! Yes, I have colored images so small nothing would work in them! Kudos to you for doing this fabulous work of art!

Wow, the detail on this card is amazing! I laughed as I read your post because I certainly have been at that point in making a card where I ask myself, "What was I thinking?" But the end product is gorgeous, hope the Advil worked!
