WooHoo Sheri gave us a fun fishing story this week in honour of Joe, the step dad of our very own Teapotter, the wonderful Carmen aka Salome000.
Here we have Poppa Joe having a nap, whilst Tilly and Billy are happily fishing. They all started out life as Sassy Cheryl digi images. I reduced the size of the kids image to suit the size of Joe.
Everything (except their skin) was coloured with Distress Inks – some areas were coloured using sponges, other areas were done with distress inks and an aquapen. I added a bit of white distress paint to the sky. I have no explanation for there being two suns hmmm.
I was lucky to grow up in a time when kids could go out all day and the only rule was to be home before dark. My brothers and I used to go fishing and I remember that they would actually pay me money to stop talkingÂ….singingÂ….dancing, you know all that girly stuff you do while you are waiting for a fish to take the bait. Seriously, who made up that rule about fish not liking noise!!
I am off to post this now. I hope all of our cards bring some sunshine to Joe and also let Carmen know how much she means to us. Thank you for looking and have a wonderful week everyone.

Great card, as always, Susie - Billy & Tilly look perfectly happy fishing while Joe snoozes - this is sure to cheer up Joe!! When on holidays as kids my dad and brother fished while I collected seashells!!

LMAO!! I KNEW you were my twin!!! Except I never got paid to not talk. Perhaps everyone knew there wasn't enough money being minted to ever make that happen! I LOVE this card and the suns (although I never thought of it as 2 until you pointed it out and got me giggling) could easily be explained as this being an alien planet. Which, considering the odds of Joe being able to nap while three 10-year-old boys are in possession of sharp implements and a whole lot of daring, is actually only a possibility on such a planet. heh heh You mean the world to me! TY so much!

Oh how fun, Susie! I would not have noticed the two suns either! Love the combination of images on this except when an adult takes two kids fishing we didn't get to take a nap. Too busy untangling lines from trees, plants and each other! Great card for Joe!

FABULOUS scene and so beautifully water colored!!! Your Sassy Cheryl images always make me smile!!! I had not seen the Papa Joe image, and he is just perfect to keep an eye on Tilly and Billy! If he were awake! LOL Hopefully those two will keep out of trouble and not add any more scars! LOL I think the extra sun is actually the bright spot you add to the gallery with all your amazing creations!!!

Sorry for a short comment - I'm playing catch-up in the gallery even if I can't play catch-up making a card and have sent Snoopy fishing from my stash. As always you have created such a delightful scene with so many fun details to enjoy looking out. I love the river you created with the ripples on it.
Growing up by the sea, mostly what I ever caught was crabs!
