This card came about as an 'oops.' I'll explain momentarily. Karren's gallery is super super super and this is the super card I chose: Midnight Snowflakes by karrenj at Splitcoaststampers
My card is hers in spirit, although there are some strong similarities. Instead of snowflakes, I embossed big stars.
This card is an 'oops' creation because I have been creating a ton of cards to give away at a bridal shower for my future daughter in law Leah; they are all star themed. This card stock had some blobs and bloops on it but I discovered that if I put the inked up stencil over some cardstock and cleaned it with a baby wipe, the inks moved onto the cardstock, I had a brand new look and one didn't notice the blobs and bloops. But when I did that, I moved some of the ink too far and ended up with the edge of the stencil showing; another 'oops'!To save it, I sponged with the three colors (those are the colors I'm using for the shower cards, plus silver) all around the edges, front and back. I embossed a bunch of the large stars, used a CP shooting star stamp stamped in silver for some subtle interest and added the sentiment in the navy blue. This may be Leah's card along with my gifts. I'm having fun creating these cards, I have a ways to go but am happy with my progress. Creating is sooooo therapeutic for me.

Jean, I love how you got this fab unique look but I bet I wouldn't be able to replicate it, even with your instructions! The result is fantastic with the silver embossing and the stenciled bg!

Your "oops" turned out fabulously well! The depth you've created in your background is amazing and the embossed stars are the icing on the cake! Thanks so much for joining in.

I don't see any oops! But I can relate with the inking over a stencil and there it is- the line I didn't want! I LOVE your card and the sponging on it. Great theme too and a great case of Karren's!
