A special thanks to Nancy (Stitz) for telling me that she uses the Sue Bee scissors for fussy cutting. Boy does a better scissors make a difference. I had this idea for this week's CC487 and SC497 and when I made the card last night it met both challenges...the green square only had the smaller square in the upper left corner and the rest of it was EMPTY. Very empty...overwhelmingly empty...disturbingly empty. By the time I left for work this morning a big bow, flourishes, extra flowers and enamel dots had some how sprung up all over my card. I don't drink so a 12 step AA program is not needed, but I am thinking of starting an OEA program on this site - OVER EMBELISHERS ANONYMOUS. TFL, Francie

What a floral delight. Francie, I don't think you over-embellish at all! And anyway, I'm more for the sort of gardens where things go a bit wild and overrun here and there, rather than a trim minimalist Japanese look. Good scissors are well worth having - but even with three pairs that should be in my jar, quite often I can't even find one and resort to a bad pair. Silly me...

Fancie, this is gorgeous! WOW - love that you kept adding to this - beautiful flowers and foliage - love that bow. Let me know when OEA is up and running - I'll be the 1st to join.

Oh, you are funnie, Francie. That overwhelmingly empty space has become a beautiful cascade of blossoms. Love what you did with it all. The little tendrils of blue flourishes are a great touch too. (I have six pair of scissors within reach. One for ribbon only, the newest pair for fussy cutting, and the other four for general use. And that is just what is ON my table. Keep em sharp!)

Oh, Francie, this is stunning! I love it, and I agree with my sweet friend Becky! I have lots of special-purpose scissors, and they make all the difference for fussy cutting! I don't think you've over-embellished at all and LOVE the beautiful bow with flourish! Really gorgeous card and wonderful take on the sketch!! Hugs!

Gorgeous card...your fussy cutting is excellent! Glad you found just the right scissors. I could be part of that self help group... I know some think my cards have too much on them but can they really? You have to go with what looks good to YOU. I think I have a CAS phobia...

You can never have too many embellishments, and this card proves it! It is absolutely lovely! I wish I had gremlins at my house who would jazz up a card while I sleep! Really lovely!

Over embelished.....you say that like it is a bad thing LOL. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous...I love everything about this. I think the saying 'less is more' was made up by someone that didn't have anything.

I love your story about how the card became embellished and your OEA idea! Very pretty result and glad you had a chance to learn something new about scissors. I feel like I am constantly learning new little tricks and then thinking, "Why has it taken till now to figure this out?"
