This is for CAS280 and Karen aka k dunbrook is our inspiration artist today. I am always incredibly inspired by Karen's gorgeous CAS card and especially her florals. I was inspired by Karen's Spring Parade card found here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...mp;ppuser=6575
What started out as a simple tulip watercolor turned into a comedy of errors. I was almost finished painting the tulips when my waterbrush dropped a big plop of water and smeared the color out of the lines of the flower heads. Dog gone it! Well that is sort of what I said. LOL! So I knew I had nothing to lose as the painting was ruined so I misted the whole thing with water and watched the color run all over. Hmmm. I could still see the basic outline of the tulip heads and stems yet the colors ran in sort of a pretty halo so I heat dried it with my gun. The color became very pale when dried. I decided to try to clear emboss it to see what would happen. It looked kind of good but pale. So I grabbed Copic markers and started adding color back on top of the embossing. I know. Nuts right! Well....anyway...this is what I finished with. It is an experimental project that although is not really beautiful it was made with lots of love, determination not to stop and admiration for Karen and her wonderful creativity. She really is one of the kindest and most supportive members of our community.
