This week's CAS challenge is a Featured Stamper challenge: k dunbrook. Karen makes such beautiful cards, and my first careful look through her gallery I noticed that bright, happy blues are often featured in her cards. When choosing a specific card to case, I chose this one: CAS277, Saying Hi by k dunbrook at Splitcoaststampers.
My background was done by covering a large acrylic block with three different blues, then spritzing the block before pressing it onto the paper. My first attempt left some white splotches, which I liked. I then stamped a wavy line background stamp over it in one of the blues.
I needed a card for a baby shower, so I used a fun little elephant stamp that was about to get thrown away (I find the rubber from this company is not deeply etched and I have a very hard time getting a clean image without shadowing). I fussy cut the elephant, and used my new balloon die and some twine to create my little scene.
I need to play with more of Karen's favorite background techniques.

I love this whimsical design. And you are right, Karen is well-known for reaching for her blue ink pad. It's fitting that you used a blue background for today's card.

I love the acrylic block technique as the results are always different and your bg looks terrific with the white splotches!! Cute little elephant too!!
