Used Post It notes to mask the opening. Used another Post It to mask the horizon. Did the downward horizon first using the three gradations of green. Moved the horizon Post It to mask the greens I had just finished. Put a dark layer of Daffodil Delight sponging right at the horizon. (Later came back and drew in the sun with markers.) Then I graduated the rest of the colors in the order listed above with sponging always working outward.
Removed mask. Stamped sentiment (which is fast becoming my favorite sentiment!) Used a black marker to line the masked area. Used a doodling style and went over the lines 3 times to get a faux torn look. Used markers to highlight the sun and the horizon. Finally doodled a little and filled in the loopy letters with yellow.

This is one cool design. I love it and the colors are magnificent.
