For today's TSB Men Fashion Blog IC challenge.
I shouldn't really have been making a card today, I have a ton of stuff to organise and cook and bake before we head West for a few days.
But (there's always a but, isn't there!), when I was rummaging through my box of scraps yesterday for my paper-pieced card, I knew I'd seen this piece of DIY faux wood. And then I saw the FIRST photo in this post, and I knew I could make a supposedly quick card for a friend whose birthday is just the week after DH's.
Sponged a base with black distress stain.
Stamped the pocket on a VERY old scrap of denim paper. The tape-measure is cut from a piece of Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper.
I added some paint splashes to the wood with Gorgeous Grunge, and added square brads in each corner.
The wrench was made using some silver card, the smallest of the small Spellbinders oval dies and the word window punch, plus the SU square lattice EF to add grip to the handle. The tag was punched from a discarded background scrap - IO Gradations, can't remember what ink I used. I over-stamped it with Off the Grid in Sepia brown, then added the sentiment and candle, which is coloured with pencils. Added a jumbo brad and some leather cording. And it wasn't nearly as quick as it was meant to be, so I'll be back to comment whenever I can make it!

Sabrina what a great manly card... absolutely love your gorgeous card... your take on your inspiration is remarkable with the wood bg (love how you splattered paint on it), the denim pocket, the way you made the wrench and the little tag... I love it all... great job as usual.... I always love your work....
