This project was a comedy of errors! The first poppy was in its final stage of embossing when it became stuck and fell apart. I cut another with heavy duty foil and doubled it to make it easier to work with due to its delicate nature. After applying alcohol inks I stamped the script onto the flowers. The heat gun blew it off my work surface and I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked for about 10 mins and gave up starting a new project, which I will assemble at a later time. The new project got stuck on my shirt when the ep was hot (shirt ruined). Threw my hands up in the air and kept going to finish the faux enamel filigree bird. Today I found the poppy I lost (in my peace lily, looked there, I swear) and finished embossing it. I found a background piece I had done a long time ago with aida cloth and chalk ink, so I embossed it with the scrollwork ef and put it onto a rose red card base. This card is going to my aunt who is recovering from a stroke. I will try this technique again...someday, it truly was fun!

Comedy of errors indeed, although I'm sure at times it felt more like a tragedy. I've more than once burnt myself on EP (you'd think I'd learn), but thankfully I've never stuck it to anything other than my fingers. And blown away - yes, often that too! At one stage I had a box lid lined with a silicone mat so that the rim reduced that. And if there's one of us who hasn't lost something that was in our hands only 5 minutes ago (more than once) I'll eat my hat.
I'm looking forward to seeing your bird - but in the meantime this poppy is just wonderful!! The simple but so effective background lets it shine in all its beauty. I'm thinking I have to try it with this die myself!

Well, if I must say so came out cute even if you had a comedy of errors---LOL---as I too was starting to have problem with foil til I doubled it and then came out okay. Wow factor for the flower as it just pops---great verse also.

Fantastic end result! Your comedy of frustration mirrors some I've had in the past and made me smile the whole time I was reading it. I 've lost so many pieces, sometimes I think there's a black hole in my craft area.
