For this week's Teapot Tuesday, we are helping Mary recover some of the photos she took on her grand trip around the world. Mary is from the Outback, but she has been visiting friends of friends, staying in their homes all over the place. Due to an unfortunate camera incident, she accidentally deleted the photos she had taken of all these places.
It looks to me that Mary stayed in one of those lovely old restored Victorian houses you find around the U.S., from San Francisco to small towns in Georgia. I think this one might be from one of the houses in Atlanta's Inman Park neighborhood, a hotbead of Victorian restoration. This homeowner kept the old-fashioned black and white checked floors and the claw-footed tub, and Mary thought it was a nice soothing space, so she took a photo of it.
The image is a digi from Bird, I just colored it, cut it out with a frame die, and wove a ribbon through the frame. I tried using silver gel pen on the mirror frame, but my pen is about dried up, so it's not an even coat. The mirror has a thick layer of Glossy Accents on it.

i had a Victorian House in Toronto with an old restored clawfoot tub and let me tell you nothing was as comfortable as a luxurious bath and a good book and of course a glass of wine. No wonder Mary wanted a picture of this.

I love the old Victorian style claw tubs. This room has been very nicely done to achieve the Victorian feel to it. Such a soft, soothing atmosphere. TFS

We used to have a bath almost like that when I was growing up. But one thing they don't tell you - those old cast-iron baths take a lot longer for the bath itself to get warm than modern plastic ones. You get into the hot water and for a few minutes the bath itself is still warming up. We just had a wooden floor, but I've definitely seen rooms like this in some of the stately homes I've visited, and I'm pretty sure the "big house" I worked in, the owner's bathroom was tiled just like that. I love the mirror!
