We're having hot sunny summery weather here! I'd love to be with Cathy at the beach . Instead I'm doing some major multi-tasking with this card since it's averaging in the mid-eighties in my attic, with no air-con.
Cathy's challenge ~ WT484 Sand
It's also for this week's MMTPT307 The Ocean Can Calm the Troubled Soul challenge - this image seemed to capture Sheri's poem so perfectly - and for the current One Layer Card ODBD challenge.
I cut the base and used the SAMJ to position the image in the centre of the card. Scored round the edge of the image twice, leaving a gap above the tall grasses. Coloured the sun, rocks, grass and foam with pencils, then with masking I sponged the sea, sky and sand in.
Added some Stickles, and a sentiment. With a Versamark pen I added some Old Paper distress ep to the sand.

This is gorgeous, Sabrina! Love this ocean scene, your sponging, and the texture you added to the sand! The ocean here has been calm indeed as the temperature soared to 100!

Sabrina this is just outstanding...I really need some new adjectives. Such a dramatic beach scene, I can almost smell the ocean. I love your card and that is a huge compliment coming from me since I am one of the few people in California that really hates the beach. In fact, my sons are at the beach tonight celebrating the end of school and I am doing a happy dance that they are finally old enough to go with friends.

Ohhh ...I LOVE that dramatic sky! Could be early morning, evening, or just before a storm. Very enigmatic! You framed your image so nicely too! Love this card!

just beautiful....here in Wisconsin, we're not truly having a lot of summer yet, unless you call tornadoes and torrential rain summer. only about 60 this morning.

Sabrina, this is one of my favorite beach scenes in my stamp collection. I love the one layered simplicity of this.
