Trish chose Ann(Dockside) as the new queen for this week. Ann has a terrific gallery with many beautiful cards. She is also a stamper that leaves well thought-out comments to encourage and compliment other SCSers. Since I'm more "inspired by" than actual "CASE-er", I chose this CARD for its color which reminded me of a watermelon and its layout. Turning her lovely spring card into one for summer.
Jeanne's F4A was to use things from our stash that tend to linger there. The gingham ribbon is one of mine. Have rolls of ribbon and seldom use them on my cards anymore......get crushed in mailing and get "tired" looking as bows, etc after awhile. The other "stashed" item is the grunge stamp that I used to make watermelon's stripes in the bg. I think the grunge stamps look so neat when I see them, but then rarely use them......could be that I'm not too good with the grunge style. : )
A BIG CONGRATS, Ann. Your work is beautiful, you are a most kind person....a WELL-deserved honor. Enjoy!!

This speaks "summer" perfectly! Love that wonderful main image (is that the PSX? sure miss their images), and the creative way you made the watermelon background. You are right about the ribbon - I have tons and use it a lot, but am always afraid the cards that are mailed with it on arrive looking crumby : ( That said, gingham ribbon is one of my faves : )

Good grief, your "grunge" watermelon stripes are pure genius, Sallie - the image is incredibly pretty too! Beautiful colours which are rich, yet summery at the same time!

Sallie, this image makes my mouth water. I love watermelon! Like you I also seem to have a great stash of stamps I haven't used yet and also a great variety of ribbon........and still, I see myself looking at ribbon when it is on sale.

I love the background you made with your grunge stamp. These greens are just beautiful and I think it is the colorfulness of watermelons that are most appealing.

OMG, makes my mouth water, Sallie. This is delightful! Your coloring is fabulous, and your grunge stamp was the perfect stamp to create a watermelon BG. The red gingham ribbon reminds one of a warm summer picnic. Wonderful card!

Your grunge bkg looks exactly like watermelon...I would never thoughtnof it. I love the shades of green and red that you used and the gingham ribbon is perfect. The watermelon looks good enough to eat.
