This card was made for my dear friend Phyl who just turned 86 years young! She is one of the most amazing card makers I know (Although she does not post to Splitcoast) and I am constantly inspired by her work and who she is. I have posted cards for her before (and also ones I have cased of hers) and she is who I want to be when I grow up. She has a wonderful sense of humor and she is vibrant, talented and one of my best friends. I wanted to make something VERY special for her. I was pleased by how it turned out!
I saw a video tutorial on how to make this card and it is SO MUCH easier than you would think. I did stay up until 4 am to make the card and matching envelope, but that was due to my slow productivity (and procrastination) rather than the difficulty of making it.
Here is a link to the video if anyone else would like to try their hand at it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biezZdo_2uc
The butterfly is a die my friend Sandy lent to me and it is by a new vendor (for me) called Frantic Stamper Inc. and this is the Monarch Butterfly and Solid Butterfly. The flowers are hers as well and she had them on a magnetic sheet...no name. The edges are the A2 Curved Border One.
The paper was called Bluesy Shadow Wash but it just happened to match the SU paper very well. I was thrilled to be able to make a matching envelope with my envelope maker, one of the best investments I have ever made! Good luck ever finding a 6x7 envelope to buy! :-)
Thank you for coming to see the card I made with lots of love for my friend Phyl, who is one of my hero's.

This is phenomenal! I know I could never get those cuts to match and you did it at 4AM?? This is truly exquisite and a feast for the eyes! Thanks for the link in case I ever get brave enough to try it!
Frantic Stamper is wonderful! It started in a garage by two ladies. Outstanding service and stock.
