The current Impression Obsession challenge is to be inspired by a song. This is a type of challenge I love - DH never stops singing. But to come up with an idea I could make just using IO stamps and dies - that required a little more thought.
This is based on Autumn Leaves, and these lines in particular: The falling leaves
Drift by my window.
The falling leaves of red and gold.
So then the only decision was whether to have the leaves behind the window or on the card front...
I inked an old Fiskars texture plate with Weathered Wood and used that to create my brick wall. I cut the window out from it, and using the window frame, I embossed it with white EP. I put acetate behind the window aperture and stuck the embossed frame back in. Some lace is laid behind it, and then some old BG paper, layered on foam so that the curtain isn't too squashed against the window. So the whole brick wall is popped up on foam above the base, which was also sponged in Weathered Wood.
Sentiment is from a clear set. I cut the leaves from watercolour paper, misted them and used H2Os to colour them. When they were dry I used Craquelure stamped in Smokey Grey to added just a tiny bit of "veining" to them.
