I'm not sure how this rates for others challenge meter-I think planning it out took a lot- and there were moments where you thought I hope I don't mess up this part- because I don't want to start over. But overall each part in itself is very do-able. I like incorporating techniques that might be usually kept separate (like iris folding) into a scene. This was made for a friend to commemorate our whale watching day on her visit. It makes a nice keepsake and we both love crafting. She's also the one who turned me onto iris folding so I thought it fitting. Steps- Cut circle from top left corner of A2 size panel. Choose 4 papers to do iris folding for the circle shape. Color sky background using distress inks in mottled tones. Using Crafter's workshop flames stencil position around the circle to add sun rays in both gold and copper with Dreamweaver embossing paste-- dry between each color so as not to smudge. I also used removable adhesive to put the circle cut out back in place so I wouldn't ruin my iris folded part of the sun. Once the paste was in place remove the circle covering. Dry emboss using darice waves folder and co'ordiations white wash color core paper- fussy cut out two graduated rows of waves and sand so color shows through. I wanted more glimmer so I drew on the wave lines with a clear wink of stella pen. I freestyle cut a whale tale an tucked it behind the waves.

I like combining different techniques I'm learning about- this was a successful attempt. This was a labor of love for a dear friend so I didn't mind spending the extra time. Thanks for the feedback. Its nice to be able to share.
