This is my card for the WT477 challenge "Go Non-Traditional" - to use cork or something other than paper on your project, and I'm adding it to the gallery for the MIX66 challenge "Things That Fly" - to incorporate something that flies into your mixed media project. Any theme, any flying thing you can think of and at least two types of mediums.
The burlap was misted lightly with water and run through my Big Shot in the checkered ef. I left in the ef and stacked a lot of weight on it until it dried. I put Scor-tape around the edge (inside the fringe) and brushed the center with Mod Podge to adhere it to the base.
I had green and blue cork, but painted plain cork with Distress paints for the yellow and orange. So glad I tried that - now I can have cork in any color I choose!
Everything else is pretty obvious except the Wink of Stella I used on the copper brads and the butterflies.
As always, thanks for looking!

Very clever to paint your plain cork. I found out that the cork does not glue down with the E6000 spray! Your card is so nice and springy looking! love it! tfs

What a great combo - burlap and cork - and what a cheerful, fun card!

I love the way you used that material for your background -- I need to try that! Lovely color and beautiful flowers too!!

What a clever combination of unique media and textures! I would never have thought of painting cork! Love the bright sunny colors against the blue burlap! I think I feel a shopping spree coming on. Beautiful and uplifting card!
