This is one of my samples for this week's TLC challenge TLC479 Pillow Top Background.
After creating my base with Broken China I sponged the edges with Mowed Lawn, stitched with white thread, and wrapped the lace around. The quilted flower centre has yellow microbeads on it, and the foliage is cut from some old alcohol ink plaid background. I added the ladybirds, cutting one in half to create the sideways-on one. DH likes this one, he's picked it out as the next card to send a friend who's dealing with a brain tumour just now.

What an interesting technique and it makes a splendid background! The blue reminds me a bit of those satin bedspreads you used to be able to get. Love your little ladybugs!

This is just too cool! Love that quilted flower over top of your pillow top bg. Your stitching is so "kokirose" like. hehe Your little red ladies bugs are the perfect touch. I can see why your DH picked this one for his friends next card. I'd pick it too. Love it! TFS :0)
