I wanted to play along with today's sketch and needed to make a card to thank our AWANA commander and his wife who are stepping down after serving for many years. I started with a leftover diecut of the hardwood poppies. I stenciled my tag and tore the sheet music of the Doxology for the backdrop. I put a jumbo eyelet in and added my twine and yarn. I distressed the edges of the tag. I chose my two vertical pieces then made an inlaid diecut strip for the horizontal element. I had the cardboard piece already and laid my wood accent over that. My base is Confetti Cream stamped with the Hardwood stamp inked with several Neutral inks thumped on.

Gorgeous card, Gail, so full of meaning. And what a gift your leaders have given to your fellowship. Our family has many fond memories of Awana. Love, love that hardwood stamp.

How warm and earthy. What wonderful texture and fibre (k, that may sound like a plug for a breakfast cereal, but I really mean your card, it's morning and I haven't eaten yet;) i love the subtle wood grain in the bg and all your beautiful neutral picks.

What a special card for a special event! Love the fibery texture you added to this card, and I always love sheet music on any card!
