I wanted to make our weekend a bit more special than usual. When the kids were little we had Candy Easter Egg hunts. Later we hid plastic eggs with symbols of the Easter story and after they found them we talked about how each symbol was part of the story but they are teeens now and DH works most Easter weekends so I usually let the holiday pass by us. This year I felt like I wanted to do something special so I planned for us to have some discussion time about what Good Friday celebrates at the supper table and give them bookmarks. Sadly the bookmarks were shy and just wouldn't come together in time so we had a simple supper and a GREAT discussion time but no bookmarks! Last night I completed the bookmarks and I will give them on Easter Sunday.
I used Mix64 challenge and had fun creating them but not sure I am truly happy with the result. I spritzed water on the tags, painted the three colors on with a brush, then dipped them in water puddled Peacock Feathers ink. After they dried I drizzled Gesso on them. I actually created 4 bookmarks but mine ended up in the trash due to a tragic gesso accident. For my final touch I distressed the edges with Peacock Feathers.
TFL!

What a wonderful time with your children at this awesome time of the year, Easter. The bookmarks are just gorgeous. Sorry about the tragic gesso accident. :-( I've had a few accidents with mixed media myself.
Wishing you a blessed Easter.
