Page 2 of 2 following this week's sketch. Journaling reads:
This year, we decided to visit the Molumbys in Dublin during the girls’ February break from school. John managed a quick visit en route from Algeria, and we did a few touristy things all together with Mum. One thing we’d never done was head up the Chimney tower in Smithfield. It was a very blustery day, a little nerve-wracking up there in the small viewing platform, but the skies were clear and we enjoyed terrific views over Dublin and out to the hills. Niamh and Ciara were not so thrilled. They begged us for Euros to put in the coin-operated telescopes, but we refused. Another tourist (tired of hearing them whine about it, I expect) handed Pat a couple of Euros, so they got to try them out after all. We prefaced our climb with a trip to St. Michan’s Church, where we all got to shake hands with a mummy in the church’s underground vault. Niamh was much more interested in the mummies than she was the view from the tower! Dublin, Ireland • February 2006
