I don't usually use patterned paper when making cards unless I am paper piecing. I do use tone on tone, or papers with a repeating pattern in two colours like dots or lines, but today my crafty BFF challenged me to a contest of who could design the best card with using 6 different pattern papers. The first card used only a part of the main 12 x 12 sheet. I had used 8x8" part to make an envelop and we were each given a 4 x 6 piece to work with. In all fairness, the 12 x 12 sheet would be fine for a scrapbook page, but it is not conducive for making a A2 card. (Unfortunately I did not have my papers in their original paper pad so I am unsure of the manufacturers.) I kind of cheated and used the patterned paper to make a flower using Heartfelt Creations - Tattered Blossoms. The running leaves die cut are by Simon Says Stamp (SSS) - Berkshire Leaf Border Outline Die, and sentiment are by MFT - Winged Beauties.
