For today's Easter/spring MIX63 challenge, I choose to make a card using this awesome basket die cut I received from Sue (Sue28). I wanted to make it look more like brushed pewter so I used distress paint, metallic paint, distress ink, then a few little dabs of white. It looks metallic IRL. I used SU markers on an acrylic block w/water as my stamp "pad" for my watercolor eggs. Cut grass from Sizzix strip die. The corner flourish is an MFT die.
To assemble, I stamped the flowers and used a SU marker to add line work and a little shading. I laid out the basket w/grass and eggs and then adhered it all together. Added the mats and finished it off with the corner flourish. I tried ribbon w/a bow but it was overbearing and covered up the basket. I worked too hard to get that brushed pewter look so I left it off.
I am submitting my card for the CCEE1415 egg/bunny challenge, as well.
Thanks for looking! :)

Wow Miss Gabby that basket is incredible, it sure does look like real metal. I love how your layout showcases the basket, yet the pretty flowers and little Easter eggs are still very noticeable. I bet this looks wonderful IRL.

The basket looks pretty metallic from here, so if you are saying it's more so IRL it must be quite amazing. I really like the soft vintage colour palette you used for you eggs, and I love the way you have the flowers behind - they remind me of some sort of allium.
Thanks for joining the CCEE stampers this week :D.
