I made 3 cards today using today's sketch, and each one was hard for me to make. Not hard in the sense of techniques, because that part was easy for me. What made them hard was my heart breaking. A 38 year old dad died because of cancer leaving behind his wife and two teenaged, (15 and 13) daughters. I can't imagine the pain that my friends are going through right now. It almost seems foolish to think that a couple of pieces of paper can make any difference, but that along with my prayers is all I can give. The sentiments that I used on the cards are from Diane's Daydream Designs PEACE and REST sentiment set. The two cards with the piano keyboards on them are for the two girls. I wanted to make them as similar as I could. The sentiment in the set says"just know that I really card, that if you need me I'm there and that each day I'll be in prayer." I cropped it because I don't live close and I can't really BE THERE. The 3rd card instead of having the keyboard, I have burlap for the vertical panel. I am going to share these cards in the Word Art Wednesday challenge.

Marilynn,
I saw these cards and had to have a much closer look. How sad to loose your Dad at such an early age. I understand what you meant. The flowers look so real and looks like Lily of the Valley along with the Rose of Sharon, non-verbal comfort with the sentiment and that is amazing. Your piano keyboard is great. I like them all very much and I am sure they will be a source of comfort. Thank you for joining us this week and for posting your awesome art in our Word Art Wednesday challenge. Blessings, Carole

Believe me, MariLynn your friends will feel every ounce of the love you put in your beautiful handmade roses. I love them so, and I know each one mean so much to them. This is a tough time, and I will keep them in my prayers too.

Hi, Marilynn, I am very sorry to hear about your friends having this worst of hardships at this time. Your lovingkindness will mean so much to them. I agree that when we feel helpless, it is best to do what little bit we can do at the time. Your encouragement and support, demonstrated in such beauty, shows your caring heart, and that is what they need - they will proudly keep your card on display as a constant source of encouragement. (and what a beauty it is.) My prayers are with your friends.
