Made this for my girlfriend's birthday using some new toys that were sitting on my stamp table.
Die cut the word "birthday from a white panel and then stamped the "happy" above it in black.
Used several shades of Hero Arts stamps and a circle stamp to create my background.
Cut a strip of vellum, slightly larger than the die cut and used Copic markers to "scribble" colors to create stripes. Adhered to panel behind the open die cut. Since I opted to mat this layer on a black panel, I needed to also add a white piece of scrap cardstock behind the vellum so the black didn't show through.
Once the card was assembled, I attached the white insides of the "B," "R," "D," and "A" to finish off my letters.
Finally, I added a few sequins to add some bling and fill in some of the white space. Turned out the larger (white) sequins I bought were actually iridescent white, which was a little pink-ish looking. So I used my green Copic marker to color them, reducing some of the pink appearance.
Am pleased with how the card came out. Not so pleased as to how long I diddled around trying to arrange the circles on my background.
