I used to have lovely nails, long, red, and someone else pampered them. I enjoyed them very much, before children, gardening, housework, and most of all following my art! Thank you kindly, Audrie for the free trip down memory lane with the nail art site PSHIIIT. Pretty stuff. I was inspired by many of the different polishes and little mini masterpieces on an individual nail bed.
I thought it would be fun to draw around my hand and use it in on my card. I traced my left hand. The hand was embossed with the Paisley ef. I 'painted' my nails with punched circles from the Basic Grey 'Fresh Cuts' paper group. They were epoxied with UTEE and applied to my fingertips.
I stamped my sentiment directly to the bg and added a date stamp between my last two fingers. A jaunty polka dot ribbon and I was done.
My hands are showing their age these days. That's okay, though...I've earned every brown spot, wrinkle, and crook. My hands are a bit like my life~~~a road map from art to heart to...oh, my what's around that next bend...
Happy Weekend, all! Thanks for stopping by today

very cool, Susan. Being a pianist first, never had nails. my piano teacher kept a clipper on the piano and first sound of a nail click, off they came. but i love nail polish colors, kind of like ink and paint.

This is so creative, Susan!! Love your painted fingernails and such a wonderful coloured bg!! I, like you loved my nail polish but sadly my nails aren't so great these days probably for the same reasons you mentioned - oh, and watching my AFL footy team play!!

So YOU, Susan. That creative mind of yours just went right to work!! I'm with you...I had gorgeous nails and now they're short and keep splitting...I've tried everything and then, also like you, I decided I, too, earned what I have. Life has a way of bringing us back to reality. Cool card, GF! Great life story.
If you open someone's card, you must have liked it...please leave a comment to encourage them!

Well leave it to you to add such a fun and creative touch to your card based on the inspiration....so fun! I hear you about your hands...mine are looking a bit tired too. I guess it is all the hand washing I do with my daycare kiddos....

Artsy and so perfectly you, Susan! Love the background for your lovely hand! I think hard working hands show it...and that's perfectly fine :)

Well, you know this jumped right out at me Susan!! I'm not sure what details I like best. The bg is beautiful. I love how you have embossed your hand. The individual nail art is terrific. I too used to have long and strong nails. Now because of crafting and gardening, it's just easier to keep them short.

When I first saw your card Susan I thought you were wearing a lovely pair of white gloves! Then I saw your painted nails and figured you were wearing your own skin. :-) I would have to use my wood grain EF to properly represent mine. Love your card and especially that great sentiment. I thing our hands reflect our doing. Terrific card!
