I need to be packing, but instead I'm making a couple of cards I need to take along on our upcoming trip. My niece is turning 17 and her grandparents are taking her to Europe this summer so I thought a Paris themed card would work well for her birthday. I had this pretty piece pinned to my inspiration board. I went a bit more vintage. I started with a piece of dp that I put a thin layer of Gesso over. I then sponged some more Gesso through the reverse of a die cut piece of acetate as my stencil (upper left corner is visible) I stamped my Eiffel tower in Rose, but didn't like the look so I used a damp wipe to blot most of it into the bg then overstamped with the same image in Cocoa craft ink. I used a marker to ink just one vintage gal and stamper her on. I used my new, unused, Best of Shelli diamond pattern stamp to stamp in the lower left corner. I used a rubon from my stash for the sentiment. I distressed and tore the edges adding a torn doily behind and sponging along the edges. I added a crumpled ribbon and brad bow. I wet some Rose ink in the lid of the ink pad and used a brush to spatter this around a bit.I put all this onto another piece of dp and then a Soft Suede base. Used another stamp I'd had on hand for quite a while but never used for the inside sentiment along with a bit more of the doily at the bottom.

What a lucky girl your niece is! What a wonderful trip! I went to Paris in '02 and just loved it. When I see cards that feature a Paris theme, I love them. Yours is no exception. What a beauty!

So chic, with a tad of shabby to give it a soft, tattered look. Love the complex stamped collage that is so beautifully planned....easy on the eye, visually interesting without being overdone and the images make sense with the all the other elements of the card. You nailed this one! Nicely done. (And that torn paper doily underneath looks awesome!)
