The WT473 really challenged me. We were to use something new, not used before, but older than a month. I sat for the longest time trying to figure out what I would use. The new products that came to my mind were my inka gold metallic rubs, but they have been used on several cards. Then I remembered some chipboard hinges that my friend Pam gave me. I took the hinge and rubbed black ink over the top and then rubbed silver inka gold metallic rub over it. So I got to use that NEW stuff anyway. The old stuff on my card would be the article from my encyclopedia about Felix Mendelssohn. It is from an encyclopedia from 1950 so a few years from my oldest to my newest. I made this card for my sister April, who has a birthday on Saturday. She loves mixed media, so I made this easel card for her. Things to notice on this card, drywall tape behind hinge, hand quilled roses, a dimensional butterfly, baby's breath, piano made with word window punches, lace, paper doily and a black panel embossed and then rubbed with silver inka gold metallic rub too. I don't know who the author of the poem is. My daughter saw it when she was in high school and wrote it in her handwriting on a butterfly picture that hangs over my desk. I thought it would look great on this card so I used my printer to print it out.

This is like a "case study"....a whole class on MariLynn's artwork! I love to just look at it. Such a great idea to use the word window punch as piano keys. You are clever. April is going to cherish this beautiful creation! I would love to see a pic of it in its envie
