I had so much fun layering and making this piece! There are step by step photos on my blog post. I was inspired by a tutorial for a mixed media art journal by Gabrielle Pollacco. I took the broken clock parts out of the center. I glued down my die cut gears (2 layers of cardstock glued together) and pieces I'd cut from dry embossed cs.I painted Gesso over these, two coats, drying in between coats. I added a metal piece which was the foil lid from a coffee can that I had dry embossed. I painted my letters with a coat of Gesso and glued them down over the pieces. First layer of color was spritzed then spritzed with water to run over the whole piece. I dried this then added daubed blue paint and chalk inks. I went over the raised letters and pieces with copper ink then verdigris ink. I wanted a bit more metal, so I ran a Versamark ink pad over the raised areas and sprinkled with a mix of eps then embossed. I used black acrylic ink around these areas and on the foil piece. LOTS of fun and mess and I can't wait to show my DD when she gets off work.
