A big Congrats to Penny, the newest Featured Stamper! What a fabulous gallery she has! There are a lot I picked to Case & for my Blue Umbrella card I chose THIS card. I kept the long oval frame but made it narrower, kept the blue flowers but made mine a shower card instead of sympathy and I used an inked/embossed panel for my background.
I started by inking an embossing folder w/ several blue & lavender distress inks then embossed a white panel. I added a bit more color w/ a lt blue Copic & used a dk blue for the centers. A few little flowers were stamped around the white frame & few more were fussy cut to add on top. The umbrella was stamped twice, colored w/ several blue Copics & I used a stylus on one to add some depth then attached it on top of the other umbrella w/ foam tape.
Congrats again, Penny..enjoy your week! It's just been posted on my blog: The Write Stuff

Oh I am soooo LOVIN this...very pretty and in blues. such a great idea to add the extra layer on the umbrella, makes it look 3d, and your details so pretty as with the little extra flowers and embossing and stamping...well done...TFS..:0)

Beyond Gorgeous!!! Ok, you have convinced me to ink up an embossing folder (gasp...I have never done this, thinking I don't want the mess of cleaning it)...but your take on my card is just too pretty not to try! And the umbrella...beautiful! You have mad coloring skillz my friend! Many thanks once again for selecting me as a Featured Stamper...a new highlight for me!!!

So pretty Julie, at first I thought the bg was a die cut and then read it was an ef, it looks fabulous...so crisp.. Love the dimension on your umbrella. I also see we used the same inspiration card.. but went in different directions...
