But to make lining up easier, I taped a thin strip of fun foam to a piece of grid paper, then used the up and down lines to line up my letters straight up and down. The fun foam gave me a lip to line them up straight across, and if there was a little metal nub on the die from snipping them apart, it could sink into the fun foam. I then used a strip of blue painters tape to attach them all straight and aligned. Make sure you tap straight across and at the bottom of the dies so you can use the bottom edge of the tape as a reference line.
Then I used a quilting ruler to put across my card stock where I wanted the bottom of the word to be. I taped the dies down (make sure you put the blue tape edges against your clothing a few times to de-sticky them or else you will tear the CS when you take it off) and then ran it thru my BS with the top cutting plate a bit more than 1/8" off the bottom of the letter dies. You have to go a bit above, or the letters will fully cut out. Then score the parts between the letters on your score board, fold in half, and use your trimmer to make the bottom edges match exactly. For an a2 card, with 1" high letters, I made the bottom of my words line up about 3 3/8" from the bottom edge of a 5.5" wide by 8.5" tall piece of CS. That gives you a bit of wiggle space when you trim to A2 size after folding. I hope my description makes sense.
