This is a card I made for an online card class I'm participating in. The focus of the class is one layer cards. This lesson demonstrated using iron off emboss resist with watercolor.
This is my second attempt, the first didn't work at all. Basically, you mask the sentiment strip and heat emboss the entire card front, the pull the mask, heat emboss the sentiment and apply watercolor as a background. The embossing keeps the watercolor from seeping outside of the sentiment area (hopefully). Then you place copy paper over all and iron off the embossing.
I had a terrible time removing all of the embossing, even though I was working on the smooth side of the paper. And I did have a bit of seepage, which is why I used the border stickers. I spritzed it with Silver shimmer, resulting in some splatter which I'm not too happy about, but it's okay. I really like the colorful background behind the sentiment.
I may try this again using a smoother paper and see if I can get better results.
As always, thanks for looking!

I love this technique and the effect of it! The silver border looks so elegant. Thanks for sharing how you did this! You are sure on a creative roll there!
