With all the SCS'ers being turned on to working with copper by Loll Thompson, I decided to get my copper out and play. It's been a long time since I've played with copper and the blow torch.
So to Stiz2003 (Nancy), thanks for the push to play with copper again! Actually I need to say Thanks to Loll too, if she hadn't inspired others, I wouldn't have played with the copper!
This card was done using the sheets of copper by Ranger for the Vintaj line of products. It already has an adhesive on the back, so you really can't heat it. There is also copper from AMACO that comes in a tube, this copper can be heated to get the rich colors.
The bad thing about cutting the lattice frame, is that there were a lot of little copper threads that needed to be removed. You have to be very careful, so as not to get them embedded into your fingers. These sheets are very thin, compared to the sheets of the AMACO copper, that was used for the dragonfly, flower and leaves.
I used the heat gun on the dragonfly and the blow torch on the flower and leaves. Once again, you get quicker results with the blow torch, but more control with the heat gun. Just remember to use either in the appropriate manner, not on a surface that can burn or scorch. And use needle nose pliers with insulated handles, as these too can heat up.

Another stunner in copper, this looks like fine jewelry! That diamond bg is perfect - even though there's a lot of detail, this still has an elegant, clean look, Jennifer!
