My card for the CFC129 CAS-UAL Fridays Challenge to use at least 2 shades of grey and any other colors. I was thinking masculine birthday and so went with Smoky Slate, Basic Grey and Cherry Cobbler. It was a fun opportunity to use my new Splat Stencil and embossing modeling paste. I stenciled the Dot Fade 1st (no paste) in the lighter grey and then stenciled the splat with the basic grey using my craft sponge. Then added the modeling clay to the splat. After it dried I sponged more basic grey using the splat stencil. I got a bit of grey smudging on my layer so....cut my layer at an angle. Worked great!
Then I made a simple sentiment tag using my Chalk Talk Die (LOVE that Die set). I cut 2 layers of WW with the die. Stamped the sentiment and die cut again. Glued the 3 layers together and added the metallic eyelet and twine. I learned from Loll Thompson the technique of adding layers to your die cuts for added dimension. :-)
My card is for this weeks CAS261 Color my World Challenge to use colored background on a CAS card.
A very simple card, but I really like the textures, dimension and how the Cherry Cobbler made the card pop.
Enjoy and happy stamping.

Awesome!! Love the stenciled grid and the stenciled splat with the embossing paste - layering stencils is so clever!! Perfect color combo for this fun and masculine birthday day. Great job mf!

Lovely card, I have got to try this paste technique. This would make a great masculine bd card. TFS
