As the February hostess over at CCEE Stampers, this week Vicky is asking us to use punch art ~ not just punching out dies, but use your punches to create something...a dog, an elephant...whatever. She suggested checking out the gallery here for ideas, and I know there are some fantastic ideas out there, and I have quite a collection of punches some of which were bought specifically for punch art.
But... I had this lovely card from Di on my mantel, and thought I could try to recreate at least one of those owls.
Well, something funny about the ears made mine look an awful lot more like Yoda than an owl, till I thought to add a bit of the negative from the round tab punch at the top of his head, so I don't know if a bird in the hand is worth two in the gallery, but he'll have to do for the challenge!!
I used circle and square punches, with some embossing and sponging. Petal punch for feet and beak. Negative from the round tab punch for the top of his head.
TH Woodgrain with Versamark and Perfect Pearls on white card, from my scrap pile.
SAS Woodgrain stamped with Walnut Stain on kraft.
Stitching,
