The challenge this week was to use a special colour palette from the Design Seeds site. The colours to me seemed to be rather somber despite the cute doggie in the photo and lately I have had to make way too many sympathy cards ...so here goes one more! In keeping with my New Years Resolution to use old stamps and supplies I decided to use this rose that I made in May 2011! (it pays to root around in old drawers and folders) Yikes! The technique suggests using a very detailed stamp (Flower Garden 2004) and only the black and white prisma pencils and OMS.

This is stunning Sue. The color palette works wonderfully for a sympathy card. The embossed edge adds interest and the pretty framing of the rose with the cut out is lovely.

This is a beauty! The rose image is gorgeously done, so detailed! I really like the die cut you framed it with, and the partial embossing looks great!

What a beautiful image! I love the way you've coloured it. It has so much dimension. Partially embossing your background works really well to support the image panel. Lovely card. I find making sympathy cards difficult. This one is gorgeous. TFS
