I made this as a sample for the WTUI challenge today - Toni is asking us to use RED, RED, RED. I know someone who will love today's challenge ;-).
I also used Judy's TLC468 from Monday.
Black base.
Next layer is white card, scribbled over with mostly a red Gelato, plus a little green and pink, then blended with my finger. I used a Marvy corner punch.
Image layer - I stamped the poppies on watercolour paper and coloured the stems and buds with a green Sakura glaze pen. Then I used a couple of H2Os to wash all over the card, and finally toned it down a little with some gesso.
For the poppies I used Judy's technique, with Cranberry, Red Pepper and Watermelon alcohol inks. I must admit that by the time I tried smashing the two sheets of glossy together, the ink had dried out quite a bit, but I'm sure I can use the second sheet for something! I stamped the poppies on the better one, and embossed them. I added some gold pen in the centres.
TCP sentiment layered onto a Spellbinders tag, and I added some faux brads punched from the glossy red card. White gel pen accents to finish it off. I see I need to stamp the sentiment again, but DH was at my desk most of the afternoon.

yikes, I am coming back and realized I didn't leave any love on this card last night! It is beautiful, Sabrina...those blue hues compliment the poppies in such a lovely way...oh poppies so frilly, fussy, and so very short lived in my garden!
Happy day of hearts...
