I can't take total credit for this card. I've been looking or inspiration to use the "Love You to the Moon" stamp out of the "Love You to the Moon" Stampin' Up stamp set, and have been somewhat stymied in my thought process. I stumbled on this idea on Pinterest, and then followed it here. Using only a portion of the stamp, and stamping it in white on black. The original card is actually a spinner card that uses a star stamp in the background. I didn't want to go to that much work, but I wanted another "masculine" valentine card for my sweetie, and since we both work in the aeronautics field, this twist on the idea is perfect for him. I stamped a simple background on basic black with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set using silver metallic ink, purposes skewing some of the stamping so that it looks like you're looking up at a night sky from a great distance and the normal blurring of millions of stars to the human eye. I then created a moon out of silver foil and the 1 3/8" circle punch, and stamped just the portion of the sentiment I wanted with the White Kraft ink pad, cutting it out with one of the Hearts framelits. I "edged" the heart with the white Chalk Marker. And then I popped everything up, and came back in and set the smallest size of rhinestone embellishments, scattered across the background in various spots to add a pop and sparkle. Don't you think you're looking at a beautiful sparkling night sky? I'm totally in love with it -- and can hardly wait to give it to my sweetheart this next week :-) Thank you for looking.
