Here is my card for the WTC465 challenge "Color Something" - Let's take it back to old school and color! Use whatever medium you want to make some color. If it wasn't colored before, add color to it.
I started this a few days ago, thinking to use it for this week's color challenge, but I changed my mind on that one and put this aside. I'd been wanting to finish it, so today's challenge provided the perfect opportunity.
The image was stamped with White StazOn, and when it was dry, painted on the back side of the transparency with Distress paints. I traced over the bird and cage with a matte white gel pen (still working on the back side). Once I finished that and all the paint was dry, I added small pieces of foam tape to the larger portions of the image and around the edges and adhered it black cs. I attached the frame to the image panel and used foam tape around the edges to adhere the entire focal piece to the card base. I added a tiny glitter dot for the bird's eye and larger ones to the corners. And last, but definitely not least, I tied a bow (gasp) and added it to the bird house.
This was so much fun to do, and I really love how it turned out. I'm thinking I'll do another in black ink with bright spring colors and mount it on white. But probably not today...
As always, thanks for looking!

Someone else mentioned folk art and that's what it reminds me of too! Like the painting you used to see on tinware. Love how bright the colours are against the black. What a stunning card!
