Sabrina asked us to celebrate the Year of the Horse on our cards for the Ways to Use It challenge. I used a stamp of a horse wearing a Christmas wreath. I fussy cut the horse so that I could have him peeking out of a barn window.
I took a piece of wood patterned dp, glued it to cs to give it more substance, ran it through a wood grain ef, distressed it a bit more with some Distress ink, and cut a rectangle out of it. Rather than just mount it over the white cs, I took a piece of the dp and brushed it with watered down white acrylic paint to make it paler and added that behind the horse.
It's also for the February Christmas Card Challenge to make cards in non-traditional colours.

Susan, this card is awesome! I love the wood grain horse barn and the way you placed the horse, peeking out the window. That horse is also gorgeous. That could be the winner of a race, so wouldn't necessarily have to be a Christmas stamp!

It's is SO fun! I love the look of the crackle background, it looks just like an old painted barn stall. And the horse with it's head over the stall gate is unexpected and wonderful at the same time. TFS this creative card!
