I used a piece of wax paper cut with the die as a stencil to create the background. (It was a bit flimsy -- a transparency would probably work better.) I sponged and misted thru the die. Then I inked up the big stitches bkgd, randomly removed some of the ink with a baby wipe, and stamped on top.
I colored the image, cut and embossed with nestabilities, and then sponged around the edges.
