Today Joan gave us a challenge to make a card that looks like it is layered but it is not (TLC467); and Jen asked us to use Tags or Tabs - so I combined the two.
To achieve the funky striped panel, I ran some cardstock through a striped EF. I took that embossed panel and ran Versamark over it, and used the panel as a stamp. After rubbing the panel onto the blank card, I put clear embossing powder on, heated it, and then sponged some TH Distress Inks with painters tape above and below the embossed image. Then I added a thin teal stripe with a marker to make it look as if it is a striped panel layered on a teal panel. Last but not least I added my little banner saying "hi". I hope this all makes sense.
Thanks so much for taking a closer look - hope you like it

I do like your funky panel. It so cool and the colors are super. Sweet tab, too.

Barb, you really did achieve the look of multiple panels...but only had one. TFS sharing your technique for creating the lovely patterned on your horizontal band. A lovely CAS card.

Sounds like a lot of work for this "one" layer card. BUT it is so worth it cause it is wonderful. Love how it looks layered. WOW! TFS :0)
