The challenge for Speedy Fox and Friends this week was to make a card using gesso. I got all gung-ho and ordered gesso about 6 weeks ago. Can you believe it was just sitting on the shelf unused for the entire time? Well, believe it, it is true. :) Thankfully this challenge forced me to leave my comfort zone and use it. I started out with cardboard from a cracker box. I painted it with gesso. I laid down the masking tape and added the "goopy" stuff known as sculpting paste. I waited for it to dry and sponged ink on it, as well as adding ink direct to paper. The ribbon was made with thread from a piece of burlap.

What a sensational bg. Awesome goopiness!
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~Leo Buscaglia
