This is my card for this weekÂ’s CC463. Peggy is our hostess and she chose a trendy color combo with coastal cabana, so saffron and tangerine tango. Our dessert option is to use a wooden element.
I had just the designer paper with these colors with the new SU “retro fresh”. I think the papers are just screaming for a funky design. So that’s the route I took.
I used the SU chevron ef on my rectangle panel. I cut a frame with the Verve scalloped frame die in brown sugar. Used a Spellbinders rectangle die cut in very vanilla for my birthday sentiment.
I cut some chevrons with the SU circle card thinlits die in coastal cabana and layered them on my card.
For dessert, I found some Basic Grey wooden elements in my stash. I like the accent they added to my card. Thanks Peggy for choosing this dessert option.
This is a birthday card for my grandson. He looks over my cards very carefully and comments on different aspects of the design. Pretty good for a young boy-wouldnÂ’t you agree??
Well anyway, thatÂ’s my card for today. Hope you can play along with us this week. You may be our next pick as fave of the week. We post the favorite pick as well as the DT samples on our new Pinterest board. Drop by and take a look. Here is the link.

This is such a cool card Mary; it caught my attention right away!! I love the dp with the trendy arrows. I love the embossing and the punch. There are so many fun details your little grandson will have to point out. It must be fun watching him. :>)
