This is one of my samples for today's Make Your Own Stamp TLC.
I made my star stamp by using a small potato cut in half. I drew a star shape on it, and carefully cut down around the sides of the star and in towards it, to leave a star shape I could stamp. I didn't really want to get starch on my ink pads so I didn't even try using ink, I just used some acrylic paints.
Afterwards I decided I wanted a blue sky, so I sponged it with Chipped Sapphire and also added a watercolour wash. The acrylic didn't resist quite as well as I wanted, but DH who didn't have the same preconceived ideas that I did thought it looked fine - so I believe him!
Moon is white card embossed with TH Retro Circles and sponged with Antique Linen.
My little astronaut is from Starving Artistamps "Final Frontier", stamped on white card and embossed with silver. He's popped up on foam.
Pun Fun rocket stamped on white card and coloured with pencils and a silver pen for all the rivets.
Since this will go with an "open the flaps" exploring space book for my youngest nephew's birthday, I added a birthday sentiment, and finished it off with ribbon stamped on.
large manilla tag, stamped with stars in gold, silver and yellow acrylic paint.
Sponged with Chipped Sapphire and washed with H2Os in blue.
Retro Circles Ef (TH) sponged with Antique Linen for the moon.
SAS Final Frontier stamped and embossed with silver on white card, popped up.
Pun Fun rocket stamped on white card, coloured with pencils and a silver pen.
Verve Happy Birthday.

I love this Sabrina! Your potato stamp makes the perfect BG for your little astronaut. I agree with DH, and actually like the "streaking" effect that your wash gives to the stars. Your choice of EF is quite ingenious! I surely hope that this lovely tag will be saved for your nephew...the love and care put in it should remind him of how valued he is. Thanks for your inspiration.
